The Intel Arc B570 Battlemage graphics card is in for review today. Our benchmarks of the B570 GPU include testing on low-end CPUs, like the i5-12400 and R5 5600X, and on an unbound AMD 9800X3D Ryzen CPU. Benchmarking looks at gaming performance and driver overhead of the top video cards in 2025 -- for now -- as we prepare for the NVIDIA RTX 50 series launch. NVIDIA's RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 are around the corner. In theory, AMD's RX 9070 series also loom. Until then, we have Intel's Arc B570 video card to test, bringing in a card in the $220 to $230 price point to freshen up the low-end. Our benchmarking considers gaming performance, efficiency and power consumption, and scaling across multiple CPUs for our standardized test suite.

NVIDIA just announced its RTX 50-series GPU lineup of video cards in the Blackwell architecture. These include the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070, for which we also got most of the specs unveiled via the NVIDIA website. This follows on the same day as AMD's somewhat silent announcement of its RDNA4 RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 GPUs. As a reminder, Intel's Battlemage B570 part is also due to launch within about 10 days.
Aside from VRAM capacity and core counts for its new RTX 50 series, NVIDIA has also published numerous materials about varying "AI" solutions for gaming, including more frame generation. We won't go into any depth on these at this time, as we're still familiarizing ourselves with the materials, and will instead focus on the hardware.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 will arrive soon. NVIDIA Thermal Engineer Malcolm Gutenburg joined us to show a number of RTX 5090 Founders Edition finished and prototype samples, including liquid metal, 3D vapor chambers with claimed world-first designs, and careful dual blow-through design of the finstack. This engineering deep-dive discussion gets into the details of thermal engineering for a 575W-capable cooler. While we haven't tested it yet, our review of the NVIDIA RTX 5090 will likely be in the works soon, and that'll include thermal benchmarking and testing.
