For a second day, thousands of Palestinians are continuing to return to northern Gaza to try to rebuild their lives.
They are heading back on foot along al-Rashid Road after being forcibly displaced by 15 months of Israel's war. Some are driving through the Salah al-Din Road.
300,000 of them have already returned to find their neighbourhoods in ruins.
They are reuniting with their loved ones after being separated for more than a year.

Abdullah Al-Arian, a Middle East specialist at Georgetown University in Qatar, says President Trump’s comments asking Egypt and Jordan to accept 1.5 million war-displaced Palestinians from Gaza is a credible threat and not just an off-the-cuff remark.
“There’s reason to take it seriously in part because we’ve seen this specific demand being made over the last year. This is something many Israeli officials indicated very early on in the course of Israel’s onslaught on Gaza is that they sought to ethnically cleanse as much of that territory as possible,” al-Arian told Al Jazeera.
“That plan has failed for multiple reasons with Arab leaders who were approached at that time simply declining to take on additional Palestinian refugee populations.”
The Palestinians themselves were also not interested in another “mass ethnic cleansing”, he added.
“They know all too well what it means to leave their home and what the status of Palestinian refugees has looked like for the past 70 years.”

United Nations chief Antonio Guterres has called on Rwandan forces to withdraw from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and halt support for M23 fighters advancing on the key city of Goma in the country’s east.
Guterres “reiterates his strongest condemnation of the M23 armed group’s ongoing offensive and advances towards Goma in North Kivu with the support of the Rwanda Defence Forces,” his spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a statement on Sunday.
The DRC and the UN accuse Rwanda of backing the M23 (March 23 Movement) rebels, an accusation that Kigali denies.
At an emergency UN Security Council meeting later on Sunday, the DRC demanded sanctions against Rwanda, saying its forces had crossed into its territory in what amounted to a “declaration of war.”

US President Trump’s idea of the mass expulsion of Palestinians in Gaza to Jordan and Egypt is unlikely to ever happen, says Middle East analyst Mouin Rabbani.
“Even if he applies pressure on Jordan and Egypt, I think their leaderships will recognise the price of going along with Trump is going to be much greater than the price of resisting him – in terms of the survival of their leaderships for participating in something like this,” Rabbani told Al Jazeera, referring to Trump’s plan as “ethnic cleansing”.
“This isn’t going to happen because Israel is not going to succeed in ethnically cleansing the Gaza Strip after a war, after having failed to do so during a war.”
When former US Secretary of State Antony Blinken went on a tour of Arab states to promote this idea late last year, he was met with a “blanket refusal”, Rabbani added.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu is feeling the heat from his coalition partners over the ceasefire deal who view the Israeli leader as succumbing to US demands, the analyst said.
“I think there’s a kind of a mix of personal, political and ideological factors at play. But ultimately, I think the key relationship to look at here is not that between Netanyahu and his coalition partners, or between Israelis and Palestinians, but between Washington and Israel – because Washington is the one calling the shots, and Israel has no choice but to comply.”

That's because Israel says it won't allow Palestinians to return to northern Gaza until the issue of Arbel Yehud is resolved.
