Scuba Diving USAT Liberty Shipwreck In Bali!

In this episode, Mark & Holly head to Bali Dive Resort to spend a few days diving at this beautiful resort. The location of the Blue Horizon Diving's 2023 dive trip!

They head out to go dive, one of the World's Top 10 wrecks in the world, the USAT Liberty!

History:

The USAT Liberty was a cargo ship of 120 meters long built in 1918 in New Jersey, requisitioned by the US Army during the Second World War for the transport of merchandise. This ship was, then, armed with two canons: a big calibre at the bow and a little calibre at the stern.

During it's last voyage, the ship was hit by two torpedoes by Japanese submarine I-166 on the 11th of June 1942, whilst it was traversing the Lombok strait. Then, the crew tried to draw it to Singaraja. Taking in too much water, the ship got stranded on Tulamben beach where it could unload its cargo.

The Liberty stayed on the beach from 1942 to 1963 when the earthquake that induced the eruption of the Mount Agung made the wreck slip towards the ocean at only 40 meters from the beach. Since more than 50 years, Bali and the USAT Liberty Tulamben wreck are known across the world for the exceptional dives it offers.

Uncharted - The Beautiful World of the Amazon | Nature Documentary

Deep in the uncharted jungles of Peru, a silky anteater is fighting to stay awake, turtles are battling for sunbathing space and a mother humming bird is working overtime to provide for her newly hatched chick. The rainforest is about to enter a time of turmoil; dark clouds signify the arrival of the rains where violent storms wreak havoc through the forest, rivers burst and flash floods force strange creatures from their hiding places. Through millions of years of evolution the rainforests animals have developed bizarre relationships and unexpected strategies to overcome these challenging conditions. Yet despite all their ingenuity, they were never prepared for the arrival of a new species on the scene.

Monkeys, sloths, parrots, tucans and pink dolphins. I got to meet all these wonderful animals in the Amazon rainforest. It felt a bit like Disney's Jungle book. But my personal highlight was the visit to an indigenous tribe in the middle of the rainforest. I am very happy about the unique footage I was able to capture on this trip.
