President Donald Trump said he wants the US to take over the war-shattered Gaza Strip after Palestinians are displaced to neighbouring countries, and develop the territory so the “world’s people” will live there.

Hamas released a statement in response to Trump, saying his plans are “a recipe for creating chaos and tension in the region. Our people in the Gaza Strip will not allow these plans to pass”.

Saudi Arabia said its support for the establishment of a Palestinian state is unwavering and it rejects any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land.

Rami Khouri, a distinguished fellow at the American University of Beirut, has told Al Jazeera that although Trump may have wanted to cause shock with his comments on Gaza, they are also consistent with US foreign policy historically.

A total of 183 Palestinians have been released from Israeli prisons and three Israeli captives have been freed in Gaza, in the fifth swap as part of a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the images of three freed captives in Gaza are “shocking”.
“The shocking images that we have seen today will not go unaddressed,” the prime minister’s office said in a statement after Hamas fighters brought the three pale-looking captives onto a stage.

Speaking about the frail, disoriented appearance of today’s freed Israeli captives, Marwan Bishara, Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst, said, “People are starving in Gaza. Children are dying of malnutrition. Because Netanyahu has weaponised hunger and famine.”

He added: “Zionism is responsible for turning Israelis into occupiers, the torturers, the racists.”

Israel and Hamas have successfully carried out their fifth exchange, with three Israeli captives freed for 183 Palestinian prisoners.

Eight of the released Palestinian prisoners were transferred to hospital for immediate treatment following their release, with others describing horrific conditions, including isolation and torture, in Israeli jails.

Eli Sharabi, 52, Or Levy, 34, and Ohad Ben Ami, 56, have been freed from a location in Deir-el Balah in central Gaza as part of the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.

The captives have been taken by members of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Hamas set up a stage in the city for the handover with dozens of masked fighters present. In exchange, Israel will release 183 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons.

Ben Ami and Sharabi were both taken from Kibbutz Be’eri during the cross-border Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023, and Levy was abducted that day from the Nova music festival.

The warrants target Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and others, including former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, for their conduct of the war in Gaza.
America's sanctions include barring I.C.C. officials and their families from the U.S., an important restriction since the I.C.C. is a creation of the United Nations in New York. Trump accuses the I.C.C. of abusing its power and setting a dangerous precedent by trying to arrest top leaders who are doing their job.

La organización islamista Hamas acusó este domingo a Israel de estar incumpliendo el acuerdo de alto el fuego en Gaza debido a la “insignificante” ayuda humanitaria, medicinas y combustible que está ingresando en la Franja, especialmente en el norte.

“La ocupación no ha permitido ninguna restauración o entrada de suministros médicos necesarios, y la entrada de combustible sigue siendo mucho menor que la estipulada en el acuerdo, mientras que lo que se ha ingresado en el norte es insignificante”, denunció en un comunicado

“Exigimos que los mediadores y garantes del acuerdo de alto el fuego obliguen a la ocupación a ingresar urgentemente los materiales humanitarios estipulados en el acuerdo, especialmente tiendas de campaña, combustible, suministros de alimentos y maquinaria pesada, y a detener todas las demás violaciones”, subrayó Hamas.

Author Douglas Murray has suggested Hamas is in the “final processes of losing” the war against Israel.

“Hamas has lost this war; it’s in the final processes of losing it, and I think it’s perfectly appropriate they should lose land,” he told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

Lantas, Mikhail Bogdanov berjanji akan mengirim bantuan untuk Hamas.

Adapun Rusia akan mengirim bantuan seperti tenda, rumah prefabrikasi, bahan bakar, hingga peralatan berat.

Sejumlah bantuan itu dikirim guna membangun kembali infrastruktur besar di Gaza.

Namun dalam beberapa peristiwa, militan Hamas kepergok menggunakan senjata buatan Rusia untuk menyerang tentara Israel.

Hamas officials have released a statement in response to Trump once again reiterating his desire to relocate Gaza’s population to another country.

“We consider it a recipe for creating chaos and tension in the region. Our people in the Gaza Strip will not allow these plans to pass,” the statement said.

“What is required is an end to the occupation and aggression against our people, not their expulsion from their land,” Hamas said.

“Our people in Gaza have thwarted displacement and deportation plans under bombardment for more than 15 months. They are rooted in their land and will not accept any schemes aimed at uprooting them from their homeland.”

A funeral ceremony was held on Tuesday (Feb. 4) for three Hamas commanders killed in battle against Israeli forces in the central Gaza Strip.

Hundreds of people, including both civilians and al-Qassam fighters, carried the bodies on their shoulders for burial following a funeral prayer.

Two separate funerals were conducted for the three commanders—one in Deir al-Balah for Ghazi Abu Tamaa and another at the Nuseirat Refugee Camp for Ahmad Shaheen and Mohamad Abu Naar.

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian group Hamas, confirmed Thursday that its military commander, Mohammed Deif, was killed.

The group’s spokesperson, Abu Ubaida, said in a televised statement that six other members of the Al-Qassam Brigades' military council were killed alongside Deif. Among the dead are his deputy, Marwan Issa, and senior commanders Ghazi Abu Tamaa, Raed Thabit, Rafi Salama, Ahmed Al Ghandour and Ayman Noufal.
