Tales of Graces is an action role-playing video game developed by Namco Tales Studio and published by Namco Bandai Games for the Wii. It was initially only released in Japan in December 2009. It is the twelfth main installment of the Tales series. The game was ported to the PlayStation 3 under the title Tales of Graces f and was released in Japan in December 2010. The PlayStation 3 version was localized and released in English in 2012. A remastered version, Tales of Graces f Remastered, was released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows on January 17, 2025.

Tales of Graces and Tales of Graces f both received positive reception in Japan. The Wii version sold over 100,000 copies while the PS3 version sold 200,000 copies during their week of release. The game was adapted into four manga collections, a novel series, and eight drama CDs. The English localization of Tales of Graces f received praise for the gameplay, with mixed reviews for its presentation.

With many RPGS franchises seeing major sequels over the years, it's interesting to see Bandai Namco's Tales series take a backseat. Fortunately, fans can look forward to Tales of Graces f Remastered on January 17th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Based on the 2012 PS3 title (also based on the 2009 Nintendo Wii classic), Tales of Graces f Remastered follows Asbel and his friends as massive conflict erupts. Sporting the Linear Motion Battle System, complete with new additions like Style Shift, it offers a compelling narrative and fast-paced action.

While the remaster doesn't make drastic changes to the visuals, it does include various quality-of-life features. Autosave, a new Dash function, the Grade Shop's availability from the beginning, a new destination marker for quests, and new English voice acting for some Japanese skits are only a few notable things. Bandai Namco has delivered a thorough remaster of one of Tales’ best entries. Aside from the usual graphics touch-ups, this package comes with a collection of additional conveniences. Players can fine-tune the gameplay experience almost any way they desire. Encounters can be turned off with a toggle, and the suite of Grade options available at the start put all control in the player’s hands.

Tales of Graces is worth playing even regardless of these additions due to its timeless political plot and deft weaving of character relationships throughout it all. The series is known for its character-centric skits and this is no different, containing a whopping 400 or so in total with a voice cast including industry vets Laura Bailey and Cassandra Lee Morris to name a few.

The combat relies on the exploitation of enemy weaknesses and clever building of character Titles. There are well over 500 titles for party members in this game, conferring stat buffs, new skill arts, and various other goodies like costumes and enhanced drop rates.

Tales of Graces f Remastered is a quintessential action JRPG - one of the very best I’ve played, and the additions here make it even better.

The game's story revolves around creatures known as Tikis, which are new to the series. The different types of Tikis fill the role of the antagonists in the story, replacing the Kremlings from Donkey Kong Country. Cranky Kong, who owns shops throughout the island, is the only Kong family member that appears other than Donkey and Diddy. The story begins when a group of evil Tikis known as the Tiki Tak Tribe arrive on Donkey Kong Island after being awoken by a volcanic eruption, and play music to hypnotize the animals, mostly elephants, zebras, giraffes, and squirrels on the island into stealing Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong's bananas. Since Donkey Kong is resistant to the Tikis' music, he works with Diddy Kong to retrieve their hoard of bananas from the Tikis. Throughout the game, the pair travel through nine worlds to recover their stolen bananas: the Golden Temple, the Volcano, the Factory, the Cliff, the Forest, the Cave, the Ruins, the Beach, and the Jungle. In each world, they must defeat a Tiki Tak Tribe leader: Kalimba, the Maraca Gang, Gong-Oh, Banjo Bottom, Wacky Pipes, Xylobone, Cordian (who hypnotizes other inhabitants on the island to fight the Kongs), and Tiki Tong, the king of the Tiki Tak Tribe. After Tiki Tong is defeated, the Kongs are launched into space where they punch and headbutt down on the Moon, crushing Tiki Tong's base and sending bananas flying everywhere.
