I tend to be the electronics repair point man between family and friends. I can pretty easily fix most electronic items. A sort of do it all repair person. How To Fix Your Device TV isn't Part Of The Netflix Household For This Account 2025 - Netflix household problem. Hey everyone, welcome back to Error Genie! In today’s video, I’m going to show you how to fix the Netflix Household problem that locks you or your family members out of your account, even when you're on the same Wi-Fi network. This can also happen if you're traveling, but don’t worry—I've got a quick and easy fix for you on your Smart TV, iPhone, or Android. Let’s jump right into it!
Solution 1: Turn Off the VPN
First, check if you’re using a VPN. Sometimes, a VPN can interfere with Netflix detecting your network. If you have one turned on:
Turn Off the VPN: Go to your device’s VPN settings and disable it.
Try Netflix Again: Open Netflix and see if the issue is resolved. If you're still seeing the same error, don’t worry, let’s move on to the next fix.
Solution 2: Restart Your Connection
If turning off the VPN didn’t work, try restarting your device's connection:
Disconnect From Wi-Fi: For phones, turn on Airplane Mode, then turn off Wi-Fi. For Smart TVs, simply disconnect the Wi-Fi from your settings.
Force Quit the Netflix App: Close the Netflix app completely. On phones, swipe it away from your recent apps. On TVs, restart the app if needed.
Open Netflix While Offline: Now, with your device still offline, open the Netflix app again and choose your profile.
Reconnect to Wi-Fi or Mobile Data: After successfully logging into Netflix without the error, switch off Airplane Mode (on phones) or turn on Wi-Fi again (on TVs).
Once you're reconnected, you should be able to continue watching Netflix with no issues! This method works for most users.
Solution 3: Contact Netflix Support
If you’re still seeing the error after trying these steps, it’s time to reach out to Netflix Support:
Visit help.netflix.com to contact support.
Describe Your Issue: Provide details about the Household Error and follow any instructions they provide.
And that’s it! With these simple steps, you should be able to fix the Netflix Household Error and get back to enjoying your shows.

In this video, Ask This Old House master electrician Heath Eastman demonstrates a variety of ways to troubleshoot and repair flickering lights.

Master electrician Heath Eastman goes over some reasons as to why your lights might be flickering. Flickering lights are a problem most households deal with at some point, so Heath goes over a few common reasons why a light might be flickering and walks you through some basic troubleshooting.
Skill Level: Beginner
Loose Bulb
• To Fix: Thread the bulb tighter.
Bad Socket
• Light bulb sockets can corrode overtime, especially in outdoor fixtures.
• To Fix: With the switch powered off, check and see if the socket is in good condition. If not, it will probably need to be replaced.
Failing Switch
• The metal connections on the light switch may wear overtime, or the one installed might be a defect and never had a properly made connection at all.
• To Fix: Replace the light switch and see if it works. You can swap the switch with one from another room that you know is working to see if it works in the room that’s flickering.
LED Lights
• Some of the newer LED bulbs simply aren’t compatible with older switches, particularly dimmers.
• To Fix: Try to figure out if the current dimmer switch is “LED compatible”. If not, replace it with one that is. Also see if the LED light is a dimmable bulb.
Where to find it?
Heath demonstrated a variety of light switches and fixtures, which can be found at any home center. In general, he recommends checking the switches to ensure they’re up•to•date and operating properly to troubleshoot any issues with flickering lights.

In this video, Ask This Old House home technology expert Ross Trethewey helps a homeowner get stronger WiFi coverage throughout his house by extending the service.

Ross Trethewey helps a homeowner fix his slow WiFi. The family has had problems with their WiFi since they moved in. They cannot stream movies on their television in the basement, and sometimes even emails are slow to send.
Ross sees a ton of similar complaints from other homeowners. Finding the issue can be tricky since you can't see a Wi-Fi network's physical problem. Ross demonstrates a step-by-step approach to diagnose a WiFi problem and determine how to fix it. After checking the wiring and the modem location, Ross shows how to check the Internet speed.
He finds that the WiFi signal gets weak in the basement and top floor, but he has a solution. Ross introduces the homeowner to a mesh network, a distributed router system where you place WiFi routers strategically around your house to strengthen the WiFi connectivity and increase coverage. Afterward, the family has a strong WiFi signal throughout their home, allowing them to send emails and stream their favorite home improvement show.

Ross installed a mesh network to extend the homeowner's WIFI coverage. The mesh network doesn't create a new network. Instead, it works to strengthen the network you have. The technology uses multiple devices to enhance WiFi connectivity and increase coverage. The tri-band mesh network used was eero Pro 6, eero [https://eero.com/] is an Amazon company.

How to Fix and Upgrade a Weak WiFi Signal | Ask This Old House

This Old House general contractor Tom Silva saves a rotting window with a two-part epoxy filler. (See below or a shopping list and tools.)

Tom showed Kevin how to repair a rotten windowsill and trim using a two-part "architectural" epoxy. The epoxy is designed to be flexible so that it will not separate from the wood as the wood expands and contracts with changes in humidity. Tom first grinded out the soft, decayed wood using a router. Next, he applied a bonding agent to ensure a good bond between the epoxy and the wood. Tom then traced the profile of the window trim onto a plastic putty knife and cut the knife to match the profile. Tom then dispensed the two-part epoxy using a special caulking gun onto the piece of plastic and mixed the two parts together. He then applied the epoxy to the windowsill and trim using his putty knives. Back in the loft, Tom recommended another application of epoxy for "touch up" and a light sanding before applying paint.
