Tips for Planning a Long Road Trip

Preparing for an epic adventure? Whether you’re traveling in a car or RV, long road trips require more planning and preparation. Mapping out routes and gas stops and keeping a close eye on the weather are all things you should do before and during your journey.

We’re breaking down a few of the top tips and tools you’ll need before taking off on a long-distance excursion.

Prep your vehicle. Ahead of your trip, take a day to prep your vehicle and ensure everything is in place and ready to go. From checking the tire pressure to filling up your fuel tank, there are a few things you can do beforehand to set yourself up for success.

Have a backup plan. Always prepare for the unexpected. Have a plan for dealing with things like road closures, severe weather, vehicle issues, and more. This will give you peace of mind knowing you’re ready for all of the “unplanned” adventures your trip has in store.
