EG Module 2 - Rights vs Justice Theory

Ethical dilemmas can be complicated and when resolving them we may consider or integrate a number of different ethical theories.

This case study is a practical application of some of the ethical theories covered in module 2.

It is important to realise that resolving ethical dilemmas is not straightforward and in many cases there is no right answer or there can be more than one right answer.

The major limitation of the rights principle is that it does not provide a hierarchy for decision making when the rights of one party infringes on the rights of another.

In terms of justice theory, a decision or action would be considered ethical if is results in FAIR and EQUITABLE treatment.
